In 2015 the Foundation in partnership with the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan and Fund of the development of the state language has established the unique literature award “Altyn Tobylgy”. The aard is being granted to the young writers at the age 18-35 on the contest basis for the unpublished literature works.
The contest is held in 5 nominations: Best prose, best poetry, best dramaturgy, best children’s literary work and special nomination (selected annually.
We believe that Altyn Tobylgy award evokes sincere interest to the modern literature of Kazkhstan and interest to reading books.
There were more than 120 contest applications submitted for the 1st annual Altyn Tobylgy Award. The jury consisted of famous writers, screenwriters and journalists. They have evaluated the originality of the idea and the story line, the artistic merit and the depth of the impact of works.
Four winners in four nominations have been selected on the Award ceremony held in Astana:
- Best prose – Arai Ertargynova, 20 years old, (Oskemen)
- Best dramaturgy – Annas Bagdat, 31 years old, (Almaty)
- Best children’s literary work – Alexey Varzaev, 35 years old, (Shakhtinsk)
- Special nomination “Mangilik El” – Esbolat Aidabosyn, 34 years old, (Taldykorgan)
Each winner received the cash award of 1 million tenge. The winner of the special nomination received 1,5 million tenge.
Contest applications for the 2nd annual literature award “Altyn Tobylgy” took place between July 1 and November 1 2016. The new special nomination “The best literary work dedicated to the 25th Independence Anniversary of Kazakhstan” had been introduced.
The results of the contest will be announced at the award ceremony in December 2016.
