24.07.2019 | The Foundation of Elbasy supported a social project for the study of the Kazakh language
Today, another socially significant project was presented – the winner of the social ideas and projects competition «Zamannyn` ziatker jastary – vision of the future». Writer and linguist practitioner Kanat Tasibekov received a grant from the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy to develop a discussion club for the study of the Kazakh language «Mamile». The solemn event was held in the National Library of Kazakhstan.
Kanat Tasibekov received wide acclaim in Kazakhstan by writing a three-volume manual for teaching spoken Kazakh language «Situational Kazakh». The books in a vivid and memorable form are given sociocultural information about the Kazakh people – facts from history, folklore concepts, features of the national mentality, inextricably linked with the language. For example, in the first volume there are examples of speech behavior for life situations: weddings, funerals, national holidays, etc., used in modern Kazakh language.
The book «Situational Kazakh» is actively used by members of the discussion club «Mаmile». Kanat Tasibekov transferred the method of teaching the spoken Kazakh language, outlined in the manual, to the work of the club. The training format consists in building a dialogue between Russian speakers and those who speak Kazakh. At discussion club meetings, students are immersed in the study of national culture and history. It is well known that through understanding the true essence of folk traditions, rituals, folklore works comes the understanding of the language itself.
The first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy N. A. Nazarbayev emphasized at the XXVII Session of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan on April 29, 2019: «I consider it important to note the project «Situational Kazakh», called «Mamile», is aimed at promoting the situational Kazakh language, which will contribute to facilitated quick study and everyday use of [language] and bringing together all of our citizens».
It is worth noting that the work of the club is conducted only in the Kazakh language.
– In addition to practicing speech behavior for various life situations, the participants of the discussion club also discuss social and political issues and raise topical issues of Kazakhstan society. Thus, students of the Kazakh language develop not only spoken language, but also improve oratorical skills, coming to a compromise and understanding of each other. The support of the Foundation of the First President has played a big role in the life of the club «Mamile», giving it a new powerful impetus for development, said the ideological inspirer of the project Kanat Tasibekov.
Recall that the first discussion club opened in 2017 in Almaty. In two years, the project’s geography has expanded, and «Mаmile» has representative offices in the cities Nur-Sultan, Karaganda, Pavlodar and Taldykorgan. In the southern capital, the club operates on the basis of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and AlmaU /Almaty Management University/. Meetings are held once a week.
