10.10.2018 | Kazakhstan joins international start-up week under the auspices of Techstars Startup Week
From October 8 to 14, the first global start-up week under the auspices of the international accelerator Techstars takes place in the cities of Almaty and Astana.
The project partner is the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy. The initiators of the project were the MOST Business Incubator together with JSC the National Agency for Technological Development.
Techstars Startup Week is held in different cities of the world and brings together young entrepreneurs, local leaders and talented people in order to develop the local business community and create new opportunities for interaction between its members.
The event brings together all participants of the startup ecosystem of Kazakhstan through meetings, lectures and discussions. Startup Week Qazaqstan will consist of the following areas: FinTech, Smart City, Ecosystems, Entrepreneurship, information technology (IT), female entrepreneurship, corporate innovation.
During the week, more than 30 events are planned at 10 different platforms in two big cities of the country. For each of the areas will be held separate events in the form of training, networking, competitions and other events.
– I will note that the mission of the Foundation of the First President is to develop the scientific and creative potential of Kazakhstani youth, and we are trying to support such socially important, innovative projects. I am confident that constructive and interested communication among Startup Week participants will contribute to the successful search for new ideas. It will also strengthen the partnership between young entrepreneurs and will have a noticeable impact on improving the IT sphere in Kazakhstan, noted in a welcoming speech a member of the Science Council at the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy, Gani Abadan.
Startup Week Qazaqstan aims to develop the country’s business ecosystem, cooperate with the international start-up community, study best practices and promote Kazakhstan as a leader in the development of the business environment in the Central Asian region.
Last year, more than 80 countries held Techstars Startup Week. During the week, leading local and international experts share their experiences and conduct training activities. In 2017, more than 100 000 entrepreneurs became participants of Startup Week worldwide.
