05.07.2018 | July 5, 2018 in the Nazarbayev Center, was held the opening of the republican photo exhibition «Zhana kozkaras».
The photo exhibition featured works by 17 pupils of a special correctional boarding school from Astana and a public association of disabled people «Center for Social Adaptation and Labor Rehabilitation «Kenes» from Almaty. The photos were taken during the master classes of the famous French photographer for the art of photography Eric Vazzoler for children with psychoneurological pathologies and with Down syndrome.
The aim of the project is to teach wards of specialized schools of photography and tell about their everyday life through photos. Photographs of participants are made on cameras donated by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan before the start of the project.
In May this year, as part of a joint project with the French Embassy in Kazakhstan and the French Alliance, the Foundation organized master classes from the famous French photo artist Eric Vazzoler.
A photographer does not have a special method for working with special children. However, Eric Vazzoler has been working with such guys for many years. Eric Vazzoler began his professional career in 1968 in the editorial office of the magazine Liberation and in the young agency Vu, his art and many master classes photo artist devotes to the youth of France, Germany, Poland and the countries of the former USSR. Each photographer tries to make a living and unusual. The guys are not only in the offices, they often go out into the street, walk in the park to make a photo report.
In 2017 the participants of the pilot project «Photo exhibitions «Zhana kozkaras» became 20 pupils of special international schools for children with visual impairment from Almaty and Karaganda.
The photo exhibition was opened by the Deputy Executive Director of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Sultan Aitzhanov, at the grand opening was also made by the Attache on culture of the Embassy of France in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Andre Bellevar.
– Young photographers are engaged with great interest, they really like to learn from Eric. The guys are very kind and are drawn to new knowledge. Our project is aimed at social adaptation and integration of children with special needs, involvement in the world of photo art, and also to show the uniqueness and versatility of their capabilities. Thanks to such projects, the communicative skills of children develop, as a result of which they are gradually and painlessly involved in society, says Sultan Aitzhanov.
